Sangeeta Budhiraja

Program Officer
Sangeeta Budhiraja brings over 10 years of experience as an activist, organizer, educator and advocate to the Ms. Foundation for Women. She has been a consultant to a number of NYC based organizations, including FIERCE!, the Astraea Foundation for Justice, the Urban Justice Center, Desis Rising up and Moving (DRUM), and Queers for Economic Justice (QEJ) working for women's rights, sexual rights, racial and economic justice.

Committed to pursuing feminist social justice and cultural change at the intersections of race, class, gender and sexuality, she oversees grantmaking and programmatic work for the Ms. Foundation's Building Movements work, Katrina Women's Response Fund, and Democracy Funding Circle.

Formerly the Regional Program Coordinator for Asia and the Pacific at the International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission (IGLHRC), Sangeeta joined the Ms. Foundation in Fall 2007. She holds a Bachelors degree in Women's Studies from Hamilton College, was a Thomas J. Watson Fellowship recipient, and earned a JD from CUNY School of Law.
