The Democracy Funding Circle focuses its support to organizations working to address systemic inequalities across race, class and gender to create lasting social change. Donor partners in the DFC are committed to strengthening and advancing a progressive vision of democracy and encouraging collaboration among women’s organizations and other social justice partners in the United States. Since its inception, the goals of the Circle have included providing targeted resources and strategic guidance to local groups to strengthen their work and further their impact.

Donor partners in the Democracy Funding Circle pool their gifts with others who choose to fund in this important area. Working together with experts in the field and Ms. Foundation staff, Circle members deepen their base of knowledge, establish grantmaking criteria, review proposals submitted for funding, and select grantee organizations.
